Amelia was such an advocate and a vital part of my daughter's birth story. Not just her birth, but the entire pregnancy. Amelia checked in with me throughout each week of pregnancy, but doula support was so appreciated specifically at the end of my pregnancy when we discovered my daughter had turned breech at 36 weeks. My husband and I went frantic, trying to turn her and doing everything within our control to change the outcome. Amelia was supportive of whatever we decided, but elated when we decided to cancel our scheduled c-section and have a natural home birth supported by a breech-trained midwife. My birth team wouldn't have been the same without Amelia's presence. She rarely left the room I was in, but if she did, she was found playing games with my 3 boys, taking pictures that I'll cherish forever, or supporting the midwifery team. My birth experience was long, intense, and hard; but better than I could have ever imagined. Amelia made me feel safe, supported, and ultimately helped me bring my daughter earth side. I will be forever grateful for the people who helped me when the odds were stacked against me being VBAC & Breech. God is good, providing me with someone like Amelia to be a part of this!

I was so happy to have found Amelia - this is our first child and I didn't know what to expect! I knew I wanted a calm, objective voice with us in the delivery room, and that could be provided by a Doula, but the education in the months leading up to that was actually the most valuable part. Carli provided great insight for breast-feeding, and Amelia helped us talk through what we could expect or be prepared for during birth. I really appreciated their science based and inclusive approach to childbirth, respecting my wishes, but also providing different perspectives to make the best choice for us. We wanted to use the advances that modern medicine had to offer, while still listening to my body throughout the process. Everything went smoothly and I would absolutely use them again for our next pregnancy

I highly recommend a doula for everyone; it's not just for people wanting an unmedicated birth or homebirth. It was such a blessing to have the help and expertise of Amelia in the hospital. We could not have done it without her. Having an extra experienced and empathetic support person was how we had such a successful birth. I had to be induced early for preeclampsia, and Amelia went through how she would support us through that process. With her help, I was still able to have an unmedicated vaginal birth, which was a desire of mine. Had I needed more interventions or a c-section, it was nice to know that she still would be there to help us through whatever happened. Carli's breastfeeding teaching and resources were so helpful, and she cares about her clients and her doulas. It's so nice to have people to reach out to, especially as a first time mom. Willow Tree is amazing!
